What is Love?

 

 

This is a question that has been asked over and over literally by billions of people through time and still we find today people seeking to discover its hidden secrets and meanings.

 

As we browse for example over any search engine on the internet, we find numerous websites giving what they feel is there depiction of Love, through History, poets, scholars and song writers have tried to show to us what Love is and yet it is something that truly still evades this World as a whole, for and if we had discovered its true meaning would we be living as we do.

 

Many feel that Love has boundaries, that Love should be confined to within their own personal life, that Love should not be shared outside of what they know for fear of rebuke or fear of being hurt and based upon the actions of society is there little wonder.

 

As I sought for guidance and inspiration to write these words my thoughts began recalling a family of ducks on a local river to me. From the moment of hatching I watched as the mother duck cared for her young, how she kept them close and protected them. One morning I saw a lone duckling not a part of this family and it was being attacked by the males on the river, suddenly the mother of the group I had been watching came over to offer protection and brought the fledgling into her own family and obviously accepted it as one of her own for it stayed with them. Was this an instinctive reaction I thought, how could it have been for it was not one of her own, she had no affinity to this lone duckling but here I saw a mother Duck caring for a lost duckling and accepting it into her family. The mother duck gave this little one a chance in life, a life to live. It showed Love toward another.

 

As I thought of this episode I began thinking of mankind and how easily so many would walk away from a situation of similarity, how so many would not care what happened to the lost one and this in itself made me feel sadness, for are we not a more superior race than those of the wildlife, do we not know how to Love beyond the boundaries or ourselves and closest to us. We see in our World so many lost people, ones that have been abandoned and in the vast majority of cases through NO fault of their own, yet they are left, left to wander, lost, alone and unloved, how can we just sit by and allow this to keep happening, do we no longer care, have we lost all sense of right and wrong, have we lost the ability to truly Love beyond the boundaries of the life we know?

 

Alas my conclusion was simple, if we look at the World as a whole the answer is YES.

 

I began to think what the LOVE could actually mean, I played around with the word and possible definitions, but when I stopped trying to make words fit, I realised how simple it truly was…

 

L is for LIFE,

O is for the oneness or wholeness we feel within it,

V is the void or emptiness that we now feel filled,

E is everlasting, something that when found is never lost.                                              

 

You know it truly is remarkable how many people actually understand what LOVE is and yet do not have the desire to expand upon it, do not feel it important to take this Love out of the boundaries they create, they are afraid to give it to others, afraid they will lose it if they do, but how can LOVE be lost once found, for it is a part of us, it is within us and it grows and surely we owe to ourselves and to others to share this wonderful experience, helping others to allow their LOVE to grow beyond their own boundaries.

My heart aches when I sit here writing and thinking of how many will read this and yet do NOTHING about it, how many will agree with the words as written and yet still do NOTHING about it, how many will just turn this page off or move onto to something else.

Although some would describe Love merely as an emotion, it is also an action, recall the mother Duck, she acted to offer her Love to the lost duckling didn’t she and have we not always been told actions speak louder than words, through our actions others will see the LOVE you have within, you will begin showing that your LOVE has NO boundaries, that you are a person willing to give to others what they are so desperately seeking.

The main structure of LOVE we see comes from within the family unit, it is taught to us and shown to us by those closest to us, be it parents, grandparents or those who have braved to go beyond their boundaries those who perhaps foster or adopt, care or provide to the lost and seeking ones of life, they offer to us all direction and guidance in life, they are there for us when we need them, they are a part of us, they are LOVE, are they not.

 

Imagine if you would that each and everyone in this World were as one family, all as one unit based upon this LOVE, would it not make you feel full of life, would it not make you feel complete and as one, filling a void something that you know is everlasting, if you answer yes then you have discovered what LOVE is.

 

A burning question though is how do we find this LOVE, how could we ever find a family as described, well let me tell you this, you already have, look in the mirror and face the answer, for you yourself are this family, you are a brother, a sister to each and every other person in our World, ok so some of you perhaps don’t understand what it is im saying some of you maybe laughing at this concept, some of you perhaps have already discontinued from reading or hearing the words, but family is the key to LOVE.

 

Lets take a brief look at Family and through LOVE what it means:

 

 

F    - Foundation of the Future.

For and as one unified working group, one family we are laying the foundations stones for our children and our children’s children, we are teaching how to LOVE.

A  - Accepting the Future and your Role within.

We have to learn the importance of what our future is to be and how we as individuals can play a major part, not merely leaving it to others, we have to learn to love beyond our boundaries.

M  - Merging together as one.

History has clearly shown to us how working individually cannot resolve our World issues, Religions and other Religious society’s work alone they do not unite as one although they all claim to worship the same God, but when ever we do see people coming together for what ever cause a clear difference is made, imagine if all through this same bonded LOVE we all began working together, what a difference we would make.

I  - Integrity to yourself and each other.

However before we can begin the changes that are needed in our World, before we can teach LOVE we have to learn to change within ourselves, we have to learn to LOVE ourselves and beyond the boundaries we have set, we have to be completely honest with ourselves and by doing so can we then help others to become a part of this family we now speak of.

L - Love of one another and of our World.

Through the self discovery of our true inner self we can then begin to LOVE one another as ourselves in turn this United LOVE will spread far and wide, causing a creation of Harmony and Balance ultimately to a state of PEACE between us all.

Y  - Because You Know it to be Right.

 

So LOVE and Family we see are as important as each other for one goes hand in hand. So why continue the struggle of Life, why do we allow ourselves still to be frightened of Life, why do we allow our World to hate and not LOVE, you think it not possible to change, well think again.

 

There are those among us today who think very differently and indeed act differently, these ones are the ones who do LOVE the World and those within it, they are the ones who believe and accept and understand the importance of unity as one, united together as a family, a family that will work together, a family that will always be there for you a family whose life has brought to them a discovery of LOVE through spiritual guidelines. These people are not Religious, nor are they Political but people just like you and I who want to help, want to show you how to grow beyond your boundaries and believe you me it I far simpler than you can imagine.

 

So I ask of you now, if you have read or heard the words as written, will you merely move on ignore what has been said or will you feel drawn to be a part of the growing family spoken of, it is up to you of course, but if you want to see a World that is making headway toward the LOVE we speak of, then act now and contact us, for we are already a part of this family.
